Shelter Wiki

A rabbit is a small creature that appears in Shelter 2 and a playable character in Meadow.

Appearance

The rabbit is a small creature and generally looks like a one would expect, save for it's ears being farther apart than a real rabbit. This is likely simply due to the angular stylization of the games, however.

In Shelter 2

The rabbit makes its appearance in Shelter 2 as your primary food source, being the most common prey. The rabbits are fast and prone to abrupt turns, it is recommended to get as close to them as possible in "stalking" mode before running after them.

White rabbits can blend into the ground in winter, and brown rabbits (to a lesser extent) blend into the ground in autumn. It may be a good idea to choose your prey accordingly, for an easier meal.

In Meadow

The rabbit is featured in Meadow as a playable avatar. It is the fourth playable to be unlocked, after frog and before goat.

The rabbit is the fastest animal on land, but as slow a swimmer as the badger cub. It's walking jump is quite good, though it's running jump does not go very far off the ground and is better for getting a head start in water than to assist in climbing ledges and mountains.

Their emote background is light grey.

Trivia

  • The rabbit's walking animation in Meadow is very off. Instead of hopping plantigrade like a rabbit, it walks digitigrade like a lynx or fox. In Shelter 2, they hop properly.
